Gruesome Triple Murder Shocks Grafton Community

GRAFTON, NY – Authorities have identified Joshua Fowler as the suspect in a shocking triple homicide that occurred on the evening of Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in the quiet rural town of Grafton. The violent incident has left the community in disbelief and mourning.

At approximately 6:35 p.m., law enforcement responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots at a residence located at 385 County Route 85. Upon arrival, officers from the New York State Police and Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office found a disturbing scene. After setting up a perimeter and cautiously approaching the property, a man—later identified as Fowler—emerged from the home holding a long gun. Officers issued verbal commands, and Fowler ultimately surrendered without further incident.

Once the scene was secured, investigators discovered the bodies of three deceased victims—one outside in the driveway and two inside the residence. All had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

Fowler was immediately taken into custody and is now facing multiple felony charges, including:

  • Murder in the First Degree
  • Murder (Intentional)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree

He has been remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail pending further court proceedings.

Emergency medical crews, including Grafton Ambulance and Taconic Valley Ambulance, responded but were unable to assist due to the severity of the victims’ injuries. The area was shut down for several hours as detectives and forensic teams processed the crime scene.

Investigators have not yet released the identities of the victims, and a motive for the killings remains under investigation. The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is leading the case with support from local authorities.

This senseless act of violence has rocked the Grafton community, leaving residents stunned and searching for answers. Authorities say updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
